Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Celebrates UoS Class of 2026

Post by : Badri Ariffin

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, was present at the spring semester 2026 graduation ceremony held at University City Hall.

The ceremony celebrated 426 postgraduate students who received doctoral, master’s, and diploma qualifications from various faculties, including Sharia and Islamic Studies, Arts and Humanities, Business Administration, Engineering, Health Sciences, Law, Communication, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science, Computing, and Public Policy.

In his speech, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed commended the graduates for their dedication and academic success. He remarked that postgraduate degrees are invaluable tools for decision-making, addressing real-world issues, and enhancing national development.

He stressed that education must be coupled with action, explaining that knowledge becomes significant only when it serves the community and country in professional contexts.

The President of the University of Sharjah also reiterated the institution's impressive standing, highlighting its ascent in global rankings and its appeal to students, with a total of 21,183 enrollees, including 5,800 newcomers for this academic year.

He pointed out the academic strength of the university, offering 158 study programs, a multicultural representation of 111 nationalities, and a profound commitment to research, innovation, and leadership growth.

In his remarks to the families of the graduates, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed expressed heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering support and sacrifices, recognizing them as crucial contributors to every graduate's achievement.

He also extended thanks to the university’s faculty and staff for their unwavering commitment to mentoring students through their academic paths.

Concluding his address, he urged the graduates to become active participants in society, asserting that real success stems from service, dedication, and meaningful contributions, not merely from possessing knowledge.

The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem followed by a recitation from the Quran. Professor Dr. Issam Al-Din Ibrahim Ajami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and a representative of the graduates, Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, also delivered speeches.

The event saw the presence of senior officials, university board members, and families of the graduates, creating a moment of pride for the academic community.
