Post by : Rameen Ariff

The United Arab Emirates has played a crucial role in facilitating another prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine, culminating in the release of 370 individuals, with 185 from each nation.

This latest exchange marks an important milestone in the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts, bringing the overall number of freed captives under UAE mediation to 7,471 since 2022. Officials confirmed that this represents the 24th successful mediation by the UAE in this context.

The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commended both Russia and Ukraine for their willingness to cooperate, emphasizing the UAE’s position as a reliable mediator in easing tensions and fostering humanitarian advancements amidst the ongoing conflict.

According to the ministry, the positive outcomes of this mediation highlight the robust relationships forged between the UAE, Russia, and Ukraine, as well as the persistent confidence in the UAE’s diplomatic efforts toward global peace.

Additionally, officials reiterate the UAE's unwavering commitment to fostering dialogues aimed at a peaceful resolution and alleviating the humanitarian toll on affected families, refugees, and captives during this war.

By advocating for continued dialogue, this recent exchange is seen as another progressive step toward mitigating tensions and providing relief for those impacted on both sides.
