Zelenskyy Declares Ukraine's Offensive on Russian Supply Lines

Zelenskyy Declares Ukraine's Offensive on Russian Supply Lines

Post by : Badri Ariffin

On July 31, Ukrainian forces executed drone strikes targeting logistics and energy infrastructures within Russian territory, aiming at facilities that facilitate military supply chains.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that these operations are aimed at crippling Russia's capacity to store and transport essential materials for the ongoing conflict. Over the past 13 days, Ukrainian units have reportedly hit 18 warehouses, leading to considerable losses in stored resources.

Key targets included Wildberries and Ozon warehouses in Volgograd, Kazan, and Zelenodolsk, in addition to a Lukoil refinery located in the Krasnodar region.

Significant Fires Following Night Strikes

Residents shared videos on social media showcasing extensive fires and explosions during the night assaults, creating substantial alarm among the affected populations.

Russian officials confirmed that strikes resulted in damage across several sites. In Volgograd, reports indicated five injuries, although no fatalities were reported among warehouse personnel.

Strategic Aims Behind Ukraine's Strikes

According to Zelenskyy, these strikes are deliberately aimed at disrupting locations crucial to Moscow's military efforts. Ukrainian authorities have been vocal about the importance of targeting logistics and energy sectors to diminish Russia's frontline operations.

This latest wave of strikes is part of a broader trend where both nations escalate long-range attacks on strategic targets, intensifying the pressure on infrastructures located far from the main conflict zones.

Russia Conducts Damage Assessments Post-Attacks

Authorities in Russia are currently evaluating the damage inflicted on the warehouses and industrial sites in the aftermath of the strikes, employing emergency teams to manage fires and inspect the impacted areas.

These developments underscore the increasing significance of long-range drone operations in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, as both sides extend their reach beyond immediate fighting areas.
