USA Launches Strikes on IRGC Sites Following Iran's Missile Offensive

USA Launches Strikes on IRGC Sites Following Iran's Missile Offensive

Post by : Badri Ariffin

On the evening of July 29, the United States executed a significant series of military strikes against Iran, following what was described as an attempted missile assault by Iranian forces targeting U.S. personnel in the region.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the successful operation was completed at 10 p.m. ET on July 29, aimed at responding to a ballistic missile attack that occurred the previous day.

Strikes Target IRGC Military Assets

According to CENTCOM, numerous installations associated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were targeted across Iran. The strikes concentrated on military infrastructure deemed critical to Iran's defense capabilities.

These targets comprised military command centers, missile and drone launch sites, coastal monitoring and defense facilities, as well as maritime defense assets.

Mission Aims to Diminish Regional Threats

CENTCOM stated that the operation aimed to mitigate threats from Iran and its affiliated groups against American forces, shipping lanes, and neighboring Gulf nations.

The strategy was designed to degrade Iran's capacity to execute future attacks on U.S. military assets and regional stability.

Missile Attack Fully Thwarted

On July 28, CENTCOM reported that IRGC launched a series of ballistic missiles from within Iran as part of an attempted surprise offensive against U.S. forces.

All missiles were successfully intercepted, with none reaching their intended targets, according to military reports.

Over 50,000 US Troops Remain on High Alert

CENTCOM confirmed that over 50,000 U.S. service members are presently deployed across the Middle East.

The command emphasized that American forces are maintaining high vigilance and readiness as they pursue their operations throughout the region.
