China has successfully launched its Shenzhou-23 crewed spacecraft, marking another major achievement in the country’s rapidly expanding space program. The mission lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China, carrying three astronauts on board toward the Tiangong space station.

The crew includes mission commander Zhu Yangzhu, astronaut Zhang Zhiyuan, and Li Jiaying, also known as Lai Ka-ying. Li has gained special attention as one of the newest faces in China’s growing human spaceflight program. The mission is being closely watched worldwide as China continues pushing forward with its long-term plans for deep-space exploration and a future Moon landing.

According to Chinese space authorities, one member of the crew is expected to remain aboard the Tiangong space station for nearly a year.
