A deadly explosion ripped through the crowded Naurang Bazar area in northwestern Pakistan on Tuesday, killing at least nine people and leaving dozens injured, according to emergency officials. The powerful blast caused panic across the busy market as people ran for safety and rushed to help the wounded amid scenes of chaos and destruction.
Rescue teams and emergency vehicles quickly arrived at the scene after the explosion. Several injured victims were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while security forces sealed off the area to begin investigations. Early visuals from the blast site showed shattered shopfronts, debris scattered across the market, and a badly damaged vehicle near the center of the explosion.
Authorities have not yet officially confirmed the exact cause of the blast, but the incident has once again raised serious concerns about security in the region. The attack took place in an area close to Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan, where tensions and militant-related incidents have remained a major concern in recent years.
Local residents described hearing a loud explosion followed by panic and confusion in the crowded marketplace. Videos circulating online showed smoke rising from the area as rescue workers and civilians tried to assist victims trapped under debris. Security agencies are expected to intensify investigations to determine whether the blast was linked to militant activity or other causes.
