Guests Keep Eating As Wedding Turns Into Floating Banquet

Post by : Shakul

A wedding celebration in China’s Shaanxi Province has gone viral after heavy rainfall flooded the entire banquet venue, but guests surprisingly chose to continue the celebration instead of leaving. Videos circulating online showed attendees calmly eating, drinking and chatting while sitting in ankle-deep floodwater during the ceremony.

The unusual scenes quickly caught attention across social media, where many users jokingly described the event as a “floating banquet.” Despite the severe weather conditions, guests appeared determined to enjoy the wedding and support the couple through the chaos.

According to reports, strong rainfall suddenly flooded the outdoor venue during the celebration. Tables, chairs and decorations were partially submerged as water continued rising across the banquet area. However, instead of panicking, guests reportedly stayed seated and carried on with the festivities.

One attendee reportedly said that no one left the wedding early despite the flooding and difficult conditions. Viral clips showed people laughing, recording videos and continuing the meal while surrounded by muddy floodwater.

The incident comes as several central and southwestern regions of China continue facing extreme weather conditions, including torrential rainfall, flash floods and mass evacuations. Authorities in multiple provinces have already launched rescue and emergency operations following widespread flooding in recent days.

Heavy rains have disrupted transportation, damaged homes and forced thousands of residents to relocate in some affected areas. Videos from across China have shown flooded streets, submerged vehicles and rescue teams evacuating stranded citizens.

The wedding footage has now become one of the most talked-about viral moments online, with many users praising the guests’ spirit and sense of humour during the unexpected situation. Others, however, raised concerns about safety risks linked to continuing the event in flood conditions.

As severe weather continues affecting parts of China, authorities are urging residents in flood-prone regions to remain alert and follow emergency warnings issued by local officials.
