A **large fire erupted on Monday afternoon at the Kaleh dairy factory in Amol, one of northern Iran’s major food production hubs, sending thick smoke over the city and disrupting operations. The blaze broke out at around 4:00 p.m. local time and quickly spread within parts of the facility, prompting an urgent response from emergency services.
Amol officials and local firefighting teams were dispatched immediately, with fire crews from the city and surrounding areas working to contain the inferno. The number of firefighting vehicles and rescue personnel at the scene has steadily increased as efforts continue to control the fire and prevent further damage.
Preliminary local reports suggest the blaze began in a section of the plant where repair and welding work was being carried out, though authorities have not yet confirmed a definitive cause. There are no confirmed reports of casualties at this stage, and the situation remains under close monitoring.
The Kaleh Dairy Company, headquartered in Amol, is one of Iran’s largest dairy producers, handling thousands of tons of milk daily and employing thousands of workers across the country. The scale of this fire has raised concerns about production disruptions and economic impact on the regional food supply chain.
