Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung attended the Vietnam-Russia Trade and Investment Connection Program in Kazan during his visit to Russia for the ASEAN-Russia Summit. The event brought together government officials, business leaders and representatives from more than 100 companies from both countries.
Growing Economic Partnership
Officials highlighted the strong relationship between Vietnam and Russia, which has continued to expand over the years under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework. Economic, trade and investment cooperation remains one of the key pillars driving bilateral relations forward.
Trade Figures Continue to Rise
Vietnam’s Finance Minister Ngo Van Tuan said the country's economy maintained strong growth, with GDP reaching US$514 billion in 2025. Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Russia is projected to continue increasing after recording significant growth over the past few years.
Major Business Agreements Signed
Several cooperation agreements were signed during the event across sectors including energy, science and technology, infrastructure, healthcare, tourism and digital transformation. Leading Vietnamese and Russian companies exchanged investment certificates, partnership agreements and memorandums of understanding.
Energy and Technology Cooperation Expands
Important agreements were signed between PetroVietnam and major Russian companies including Zarubezhneft, Novatek and Rosatom. Both countries also discussed opportunities in innovation, artificial intelligence, logistics and high-quality workforce development.
Vietjet Announces Three New Russia Routes
One of the key highlights of the event was Vietjet Airlines’ announcement of three new international routes connecting Vietnam and Russia. The airline will launch services between Da Nang and Moscow, Nha Trang and Kazan, and Nha Trang and Novosibirsk, improving connectivity between the two countries.
New Opportunities for Trade and Tourism
The expansion of air links is expected to boost tourism, strengthen people-to-people exchanges and create new business opportunities. Leaders from both nations expressed confidence that deeper cooperation in trade, investment and transportation will deliver long-term benefits for businesses and economic growth.
