Vietnam and South Korea have taken another step toward strengthening their comprehensive strategic partnership, with a focus on technology, investment, and innovation. The high-level meeting highlights the growing importance of bilateral cooperation in emerging sectors.

The discussion took place on April 22, 2026, in Hanoi, where Ho Quoc Dung received Bae Kyung Hoon during the state visit of Lee Jae Myung to Vietnam. Senior officials from both countries also attended the meeting.

During the talks, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized the significance of the visit in further strengthening ties between the two nations. He highlighted that cooperation in science and technology has become a key pillar of the bilateral relationship with promising initial outcomes.

Vietnam reaffirmed its commitment to deepening relations with South Korea based on trust, partnership, and mutual development. The leadership expressed expectations that the visit would create new momentum for more effective and meaningful cooperation in the future.

The Vietnamese side encouraged South Korean businesses to expand investment in key sectors such as infrastructure, high-tech manufacturing, semiconductors, biotechnology, and smart cities. The government also stressed the importance of turning policy agreements into concrete projects that deliver real benefits.

From the South Korean side, Deputy Prime Minister Bae Kyung Hoon noted that many major Korean companies see strong potential in Vietnam’s growing economy and skilled workforce. He emphasized ongoing cooperation in areas such as agriculture, education, and development projects.

Both sides also highlighted the role of the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology as a symbol of successful collaboration. Future cooperation is expected to expand into advanced fields such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors, with both countries aiming to achieve practical and long-term results.
