YouTube Premium Prices Rise in Singapore Across All Plans

YouTube Premium Prices Rise in Singapore Across All Plans

Post by : Rohit Dhiman

YouTube Premium subscribers in Singapore will have to pay more for the service as the platform has announced a price increase across its subscription plans. The company informed existing subscribers about the change through an email, explaining that the higher prices will help it continue improving the service, adding new features and supporting creators and artists.

YouTube Premium New Prices in Singapore

Under the revised pricing, the YouTube Premium Singapore individual membership will cost S$15.98 per month, compared with the earlier price of S$13.98. This means individual subscribers will pay S$2 more every month. The YouTube Premium family plan will also become more expensive. The monthly price will increase from S$27.98 to S$31.98. The family subscription allows up to six people living in the same household to use the service. The latest increase means subscribers will need to consider the higher monthly cost if they want to continue using the premium features without interruption.

Why Has YouTube Increased Premium Prices?

According to the company, the YouTube Premium price increase is aimed at helping YouTube maintain and improve the overall service. In its communication to subscribers, YouTube said the decision was not taken lightly. The platform also indicated that the additional revenue would support improvements to Premium and help creators and artists whose content is watched through the service. For users, the price revision comes at a time when subscription-based digital services are becoming an increasingly important part of the entertainment market.

What Does YouTube Premium Offer?

A YouTube Premium subscription provides several benefits compared with the standard YouTube experience. Subscribers can watch videos without advertisements and continue playing content in the background while using other apps or when their device screen is off. The service also provides an option to download videos for offline viewing. In addition, subscribers receive full access to YouTube Music, allowing them to listen to music and other audio content through the platform. These features are among the main reasons users choose Premium, particularly those who regularly watch YouTube videos or use YouTube Music.

Second Major Price Increase in Two Years

The latest YouTube Premium price hike follows another significant revision in Singapore roughly two years ago. At that time, the individual subscription increased from S$11.98 to S$13.98 per month. The family plan saw a much larger increase during the previous revision, moving from S$17.98 to S$27.98 per month. With the latest change, the family subscription will now rise to S$31.98.

YouTube Premium Users Worldwide

The pricing change currently affects subscribers in Singapore. Globally, YouTube Premium has grown into a major subscription service, with YouTube reporting more than 125 million Premium users worldwide. For Singapore users, the latest revision means higher monthly spending, while the platform says the additional revenue will help it continue developing Premium features and supporting the creators and artists who produce content for YouTube.
