The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi (DoH) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) have unveiled an expansion of their strategic partnership aimed at enhancing intelligent health systems and extending healthy longevity. This significant announcement took place during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting at the UAE Pavilion in Davos.
The enlarged cooperation seeks to fortify Abu Dhabi’s status as a worldwide frontrunner in personalized, reactive, and data-centric healthcare.
His Excellency Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of Abu Dhabi's Department of Health, emphasized that conventional healthcare approaches tend to be fragmented and reactive. He noted that this partnership is set to revolutionize global healthcare perspectives to establish an intelligent health framework that emphasizes early care, disease prevention, and improved overall longevity of populations.
This announcement comes on the heels of a previously successful phase that resulted in a collaborative white paper titled “A New Era for Digital Health: Abu Dhabi’s Leap to Health Intelligence.” This document illustrates how Abu Dhabi has developed a sophisticated health system that integrates clinical, genomic, lifestyle, and environmental data to forecast health threats, avert diseases, and inform large-scale public health policies.
Dr. Shyam Bishen, who heads the Centre for Health and Healthcare at the WEF, commended Abu Dhabi’s forward-thinking leadership. He remarked that the emirate exemplifies the tangible impacts of digital health, AI, and data when implemented at the systemic level, offering valuable lessons for other nations to create more interconnected, preventive, and robust healthcare systems globally.
In this new phase of collaboration, Abu Dhabi will persist as a Global Pathfinder within the WEF’s Digital Healthcare Transformation (DHT) Initiative, which unites over 200 global organizations, including healthcare leaders, tech companies, policymakers, and investors to expedite healthcare transformation around the globe.
The insights gained from Abu Dhabi will enhance worldwide dialogues on healthy living, longevity, health intelligence, and the influence of digital technologies and AI in shaping public health strategies. Furthermore, this partnership will align with other WEF health initiatives, such as the Healthy Longevity Initiative and the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience.
