Brazil dominated South Korea 5-0 in a friendly match at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Friday, with young stars Estevao and Rodrygo scoring twice each. Under the guidance of Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti, the visitors displayed attacking brilliance throughout the match.
The scoring began early for Brazil in the 13th minute when 18-year-old winger Estevao finished off a precise through ball from Bruno Guimaraes, slotting it home from close range. The visitors doubled their lead in the 41st minute as Rodrygo curled a beautiful strike into the bottom corner, completing a well-worked team move.
After the break, Brazil continued their attacking dominance. Estevao scored his second goal in the 47th minute, capitalizing on a misplaced pass by South Korea’s Kim Min-Jae. Rodrygo then added his second, finishing a fast attack that started with Vinicius Jr. Vinicius himself sealed the 5-0 victory in the 77th minute with another quick counter-attack goal.
The match showcased Ancelotti’s tactical approach and attacking philosophy. Brazil lined up with four forwards and just two midfielders, relying on high pressing, speed, and quick transitions. Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo rotated positions between the left wing and central attack, while Matheus Cunha dropped deeper to control play, and Estevao ran constantly on the right flank.
South Korea struggled to cope with Brazil’s pace and movement, resorting to tactical fouls that earned two yellow cards. Despite the pressure, goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-woo made several saves to deny Vinicius and Rodrygo, and Casemiro had a goal disallowed for offside.
Rodrygo reflected on the team’s performance after the match, telling Brazilian TV Globo, “Ancelotti stressed the importance of everyone staying committed and playing with intensity, starting with the forwards pressing. Everyone defends and helps. Little by little, the attack starts to work. I’m very happy with the win and my performance. Let’s keep it up.”
This victory marked Brazil’s third win in five matches under Ancelotti since he took charge in May. The coach has focused on attitude, adaptability, and attacking dynamism as the team prepares for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
Brazil will face Japan in another friendly on Tuesday as they continue to fine-tune their squad and tactics ahead of the tournament. The performance against South Korea sends a strong message about the team’s offensive strength and readiness for the global stage.
