As women in their thirties balance careers, family, and personal obligations, focusing on health can take a back seat. Fitness expert Siddhartha Singh, trainer to actress Tamannaah Bhatia, recently shared valuable insights on three key supplements that women in this age bracket should prioritize.
During an Instagram session on November 24, Singh pointed out the individuality of nutritional needs, stressing that the right supplements depend on personal health. He identifies vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, and iron as vital additions.
1. Vitamin D: A Key to Immunity
Vitamin D plays an essential role in bolstering the immune system. Singh mentioned that many adults miss out on adequate sunlight exposure due to indoor lifestyles. “We need to consider vitamin D as a vital supplement—most of us spend too much time indoors. Supplementing can fortify immunity and enhance bone health as we age,” he advised.
2. Omega-3: Combatting Inflammation
Singh highlighted omega-3 fatty acids as the second necessary supplement, especially for those who might not eat fish regularly. Omega-3 aids in managing bodily inflammation, crucial for heart health and general wellness. “For those not consuming fish twice weekly, omega-3 is a must. If you're vegetarian, consider plant sources like flaxseed, chia seeds, or walnuts,” he noted.
3. Iron: Boosting Energy and Blood Health
The final supplement Singh recommends is iron. He pointed out that monthly menstruation leads to iron loss, making it vital to replenish levels for energy. However, he cautioned against self-supplementation without medical advice. “Iron is crucial, especially for women, but always consult a physician and conduct a blood test before starting supplementation,” he advised.
A Holistic Perspective
Singh's message reinforces that supplements should complement a nutritious diet rather than serve as a replacement. A balanced diet, regular exercise, and proper rest remain fundamental to optimal health.
