9 Terror Suspects Held Over Delhi-Mumbai Plot

9 Terror Suspects Held Over Delhi-Mumbai Plot

Post by : Shakul

A major anti-terror operation by the Delhi Police Special Cell has led to the arrest of nine individuals allegedly linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the criminal network of fugitive underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. Authorities claim the group was planning coordinated attacks on strategic locations in Delhi and Mumbai, posing a serious threat to national security.

According to officials, the accused include residents of Delhi, Mumbai, and Punjab, while some individuals are reported to be foreign nationals. Investigators believe the group was operating as part of a larger network with suspected international connections and external handlers directing its activities.

During the operation, security agencies recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the suspects. Preliminary investigations indicate that the group had been tasked with targeting important public infrastructure, security personnel, and other high-value locations in India’s major cities.

Sources familiar with the investigation revealed that potential targets allegedly included airports, railway stations, power facilities, and other sensitive installations. Authorities are currently examining intelligence inputs to determine the full scope of the conspiracy and identify additional individuals connected to the network.

Officials confirmed that the module had been under surveillance for an extended period before the arrests were carried out. Security agencies are now focusing on uncovering cross-border links, financial channels, communication networks, and the role of overseas operatives who may have coordinated the alleged plans.

The arrests come at a time when Delhi remains on heightened security alert following intelligence warnings about possible terror threats. Security agencies had recently received alerts regarding potential attacks involving improvised explosive devices, armed assaults, and coordinated strikes targeting crowded public locations and government offices.

Investigators are continuing their interrogation of the suspects and analyzing digital evidence collected during the operation. Authorities have emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and that further details will be released as evidence is verified. The operation is being viewed as a significant step in preventing a potentially serious security threat and strengthening counter-terror efforts across the country.
