Passengers Urged to Expect Stricter Checks at Thai Airports

Passengers Urged to Expect Stricter Checks at Thai Airports

Post by : Shakul

Bangkok, Thailand: Airport security for passengers travelling through Thailand has been tightened as part of compliance with international aviation safety requirements, prompting authorities to advise travellers to prepare for stricter screenings of their belongings at all Thai airports. The move follows updated guidelines issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) to meet safety standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

According to the CAAT notice, passengers are being reminded to remove items such as watches, belts, jackets, hats, and block‑heeled shoes and place them in trays before security scanning to help speed up the process. Officials have also instructed travellers to fully cooperate with additional screening procedures, which may include pat‑down checks, walking through metal detectors, or undergoing body scans as needed.

The new security enhancements aim to minimise risks to air passengers and improve overall aviation safety across Thailand’s international and domestic hubs. Authorities are implementing these changes to align airport operations with ICAO’s stringent safety framework, ensuring that passenger movement is secure without compromising travel experience.

As part of these updates, CAAT expects travellers to allow extra time at checkpoints and follow all instructions from airport personnel to maintain efficient movement through security screening areas.
