In a significant move to advance education, Google has introduced Google Skills, a comprehensive learning platform designed to provide students, developers, and professionals with essential AI and technical skills. This platform integrates resources from Google Cloud, Google DeepMind, Grow with Google, and Google for Education, offering a unified access point to around 3,000 courses, labs, and certifications.
As AI emerges as a pivotal aspect of innovation and productivity, Google Skills offers adaptable learning pathways suitable for all skill levels. Newcomers can engage with Google AI Essentials, while seasoned developers and researchers can delve into AI Research Foundations provided by DeepMind. Short, targeted lessons such as AI Boost Bites allow participants to absorb knowledge in just ten minutes, facilitating learning within hectic schedules.
The platform also addresses the needs of managers, with courses like Future-Proof Your AI Learning Strategy, delivering practical insights to help businesses thrive in an ever-evolving digital environment.
Hands-on experience is a core element of Google Skills, featuring labs powered by Gemini Code Assist. Participants can achieve skill badges, entry-level certifications, or comprehensive credentials to demonstrate their expertise. Engaging features such as progress streaks and sharing achievements are designed to foster increased involvement and motivation.
In an effort to bolster workforce development, Google has teamed up with over 150 employers on a skills-focused recruitment initiative. Graduates of Google Career Certificates will have streamlined paths to job opportunities, as demonstrated by companies like Jack Henry, which utilize this program to effectively source qualified candidates.
Accessibility remains a cornerstone of the initiative: Google Skills is available at no cost to learners globally, including students, developers, educational institutions, governmental bodies, and nonprofits. Google Cloud customers benefit from complete access to the on-demand library, while developers can utilize 35 complimentary monthly credits for hands-on lab experiences.
This launch signifies Google’s commitment to closing the global skills gap, empowering both learners and professionals to forge fulfilling careers in AI and emerging technologies.
