Television actress Rashami Desai, widely recognised for her performances in Uttaran and Dil Se Dil Tak, has opened up about her prolonged struggle with depression that spanned almost eight years. She shared that the emotional challenges during this phase took a serious toll on her mental well-being and personal life, but her work gradually became a path to recovery.
Speaking about her experience, Rashami said the healing process was slow and demanding. She admitted to carrying emotional pain for years and explained that it took time and inner strength to release that burden and begin life anew. According to the actress, self-reflection and continuous effort played a crucial role in helping her regain balance and confidence.
Rashami feels that people have the power to shape their own emotional journeys. She believes that no one else determines the course of one’s career or personal growth, and inner peace comes from within. Over the years, she discovered that her profession turned into a place of comfort, offering her a sense of calm, focus, and emotional safety.
The actress also shared that acting initially worked as an escape, a realisation that came much later. Now, she consciously ensures that her professional responsibilities and emotional health remain in harmony. Maintaining this balance, she said, has brought stability to her life after years of emotional struggle.
Beyond daily soaps, Rashami Desai has made her mark on reality television as well. She has been part of popular shows such as Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6, Nach Baliye 7, and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7, which helped her connect even more strongly with viewers.
In her personal life, Rashami married her Uttaran co-actor Nandish Sandhu in 2012. Their relationship began on the sets of the show, but the couple parted ways three years later.
Today, Rashami Desai continues to prioritise her mental health while moving forward in her career with clarity and confidence, highlighting that recovery is possible through patience, self-belief, and consistent effort.
