AD Ports Group Achieves Prestigious Tier IV Data Centre Certification

Post by : Badri Ariffin

AD Ports Group has reached a significant global milestone, with its Khalifa Port Data Centre achieving the prestigious Tier IV Certification of Constructed Facility from the Uptime Institute. This makes it the first facility in the international trade and logistics arena to earn this esteemed recognition, reflecting the highest level of accreditation within the data centre sector.

The Tier IV certification highlights AD Ports Group's unwavering dedication to digital transformation, operational excellence, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies across its worldwide operations. Tier IV status is designated for data centres that are completely fault-tolerant, enabling uninterrupted service even in the face of unexpected disruptions or system failures.

Situated at Khalifa Port, this Tier IV-certified data centre underpins AD Ports Group’s hybrid cloud ecosystem, facilitating mission-critical functions in more than 50 nations. Crafted for ultimate reliability, the facility boasts an impressive 99.995 percent availability, alongside full redundancy in power supply, cooling systems, and network infrastructure. It currently processes over 150 million digital transactions annually, delivering secure and high-performance operations for global supply chains.

Mohamed Jamal-Eddine, Group Chief Information Officer at AD Ports Group, remarked that this achievement illustrates the organization's pioneering role in digitalising global trade. He emphasized that the Tier IV-certified centre is more than just a technical feat; it's a strategic foundation that facilitates the secure implementation of next-gen technologies, including artificial intelligence, IoT solutions, blockchain applications, and Low Earth Orbit satellite connectivity. These advancements, he stated, enhance business continuity while promoting more efficient and transparent logistics solutions.

Martin McCarthy, CEO of the Uptime Institute, commended AD Ports Group for achieving the stringent standards necessary for Tier IV certification. He noted that this accomplishment demonstrates remarkable technical skill and a robust commitment to operational excellence, setting a new global standard for reliability, security, and service continuity within the trade and logistics field.

AD Ports Group is already utilizing the Tier IV-certified centre to drive innovation across its maritime and logistics sectors. The facility supports sophisticated AI-driven solutions and acts as a core hub for real-time data generated by the group’s new LEO satellite services, enabling constant monitoring and optimization of its global fleet of 270 vessels. This technological foundation positions AD Ports Group to deliver smarter, more connected, and future-ready supply chain solutions worldwide.
