Man Found Dead in Langkawi Rented Room After Three Days

Man Found Dead in Langkawi Rented Room After Three Days

Post by : Rohit Dhiman

A 37-year-old unemployed man was found dead inside his rented room in Padang Matsirat, Langkawi, after his family was unable to contact him for several days. Police have classified the case as sudden death after preliminary checks found no signs of violence or suspicious activity. The deceased was identified as Khairol Iqmal Rohidin, a resident of Kangar, Perlis. According to police, he had not responded to calls for around three days, raising concern among his relatives.

Where Was the Man Found?

The incident took place in Padang Matsirat, Langkawi, where the man was staying in a rented room. His cousin became concerned after repeated attempts to contact him went unanswered. At around 6.55pm, the cousin contacted the landlord and informed him about the situation. The landlord subsequently checked the room and looked through a window. He reportedly saw the man lying motionless on the bed and immediately contacted the police.

What Happened in the Langkawi Death Case?

Police officers arrived at the location and conducted an initial examination of the room and the victim. Investigators found no apparent signs of a struggle and no visible physical injuries on the man's body. Authorities also said there were no immediate indications of foul play. Police have therefore treated the incident as a sudden death case while awaiting further medical findings. The victim was reportedly not known to have any previous medical conditions. However, the absence of a known medical history does not by itself establish the cause of death.

Police Investigation Underway

Langkawi police chief Khairul Azhar Nuruddin said preliminary investigations did not reveal circumstances suggesting that another person had attacked the victim. Officers are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the man found dead in the rented accommodation. Investigators are also expected to consider information from relatives, the landlord and other relevant parties as part of the inquiry. Police have not reported any evidence indicating that the death was connected to a criminal incident.

Autopsy to Determine Cause of Death

Following the discovery, the man's remains were transported to the forensic unit at Sultanah Maliha Hospital. An autopsy will be carried out to help determine the actual cause of death. Medical findings are expected to provide investigators with additional information about what happened before the man's death. Until the forensic examination is completed, authorities have not established a definitive medical cause.

Family Raised Concern After Three Days

The case came to light after the man's cousin became worried because he had remained uncontactable for three days. The unanswered calls eventually prompted the family to seek assistance from the landlord. The landlord's decision to check the room led to the discovery of the victim. Police said the investigation remains ongoing, while the forensic examination will play an important role in establishing the circumstances surrounding the death. For now, authorities have classified the incident as sudden death, with no immediate evidence of criminal involvement reported during the initial investigation.
