Malaysia Warns of Heavy Rain and Storms in Seven States

MetMalaysia Issues Weather Warning for Seven States

KUALA LUMPUR — The Malaysian Meteorological Department, known as MetMalaysia, has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting seven states until 9 pm on Tuesday, July 14. The alert covers areas across Peninsular Malaysia as well as Sabah and Sarawak.

Entire Kelantan Included in Weather Alert

The warning covers the whole of Kelantan, where residents could experience thunderstorms and periods of heavy rainfall. In Perak, the affected areas include Hulu Perak and Batang Padang.

Terengganu and Pahang Areas Face Stormy Weather

MetMalaysia also forecast similar conditions in Besut, Terengganu. In Pahang, the warning covers Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin.

Johor District Also Under Warning

Mersing in Johor is also included in the weather warning. Thunderstorms may bring sudden heavy rain and strong winds, potentially affecting travel and outdoor activities in the affected area.

Sabah and Sarawak Included in Alert

In East Malaysia, the warning covers Limbang in Sarawak. In Sabah, affected locations include Telupid and Beluran in the Sandakan division, as well as Kudat.

Warning Remains in Effect Until 9 PM

The weather alert is expected to remain in effect until 9 pm. Conditions may vary between locations, and thunderstorms can develop rapidly depending on local atmospheric conditions.

Residents Advised to Monitor Weather Updates

People in the affected areas should monitor official weather updates and exercise caution during thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds. Drivers should also remain alert to reduced visibility and potentially hazardous road conditions during intense rainfall.
