In a significant advancement for India's technological sector, Meta Platforms, Inc.’s Facebook Overseas has secured a 30% stake in a newly established AI initiative led by billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries. Named Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Ltd (REIL), this venture was officially formed on October 24, 2025, representing a strategic alliance in the realm of enterprise AI solutions.
Reliance Industries retains a 70% ownership in the venture through its fully-owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence Ltd. An initial investment of Rs 855 crore from both firms will go towards developing, marketing, and offering sophisticated AI solutions tailored for enterprise clients.
REIL is designed to enhance India’s AI infrastructure by delivering advanced services to various industries. The partnership showcases a collaborative vision where Reliance contributes invaluable local knowledge and extensive market reach, while Meta adds its global AI expertise and technological support.
The formation of this venture does not necessitate any regulatory or governmental approvals, indicating a streamlined process to boost AI initiatives within India. Analysts believe this collaboration could accelerate the adoption of AI in various sectors, presenting new opportunities in data analytics, automation, and cloud computing.
