The Ministry of Health initiated a crucial awareness program centered on Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) at the Khasab Sports and Cultural Club. Under the guidance of Dr. Ahmed Salim Al Mandhari, Undersecretary of Health for Planning and Health Regulation, this event focused on disseminating straightforward and trustworthy information about both viruses, equipping the local community with the necessary knowledge for self-protection and communal health. This effort is part of the Ministry's broader mission to enhance nationwide awareness.
Attendees engaged in a variety of activities suitable for all ages. Healthcare experts delivered specialized lectures detailing the causes, symptoms, preventive measures, and treatment options for HPV and HIV. These informative sessions aimed to clarify misconceptions and empower participants to discuss these critical health issues confidently. The event also included hands-on activities, promoting active participation from students and community members alike.
A comprehensive health exhibition was set up, where visitors had the opportunity to explore visual displays, brochures, and engage in discussions with health professionals. This exhibition emphasized the importance of routine check-ups, early detection, safe health practices, and vaccination as key strategies in managing health risks. It showcased initiatives led by the Directorate General of Health Services to improve public health and promote disease awareness.
The event fostered community involvement by inviting schools and young students to participate in awareness competitions, encouraging creativity while emphasizing the importance of healthy lifestyle choices. Concluding the program, the chief guest presented awards to the participating students and schools, while also recognizing the lecturers and organizing committee for their invaluable contributions to the event's success.
The Ministry reiterated the significance of awareness regarding HPV and HIV for risk reduction and community protection. Initiatives like this empower individuals with the knowledge necessary to make informed health decisions, helping foster a safer community.
