Myanmar Airstrikes Hit Rakhine Near Bangladesh Border

Myanmar Airstrikes Hit Rakhine Near Bangladesh Border

Post by : Shakul

Fresh airstrikes carried out by Myanmar's military have hit several areas in Rakhine State near the Bangladesh border, intensifying the ongoing conflict and creating panic among local residents. The strikes targeted locations in Maungdaw and Buthidaung townships, where clashes between the military and armed groups have continued in recent days.

Residents living close to the border reported hearing repeated explosions as fighter aircraft carried out multiple bombing runs across different parts of Rakhine. Several Rohingya-populated areas were reportedly affected, while military positions of armed groups were also believed to be among the targets.

Multiple Explosions Reported

Local sources said a series of airstrikes struck different locations throughout the day, damaging residential areas and forcing civilians to seek temporary shelter. Reports indicated that at least one woman and two children were injured during the attacks, although officials are still assessing the full extent of casualties and property damage.

Witnesses said the continuous explosions created widespread fear as people rushed to safer locations amid uncertainty over further military operations.

Border Communities Hear Powerful Blasts

Residents in Bangladesh's Teknaf border region also reported hearing loud explosions coming from across the border. Authorities confirmed that the sounds of bombings were clearly audible in several border villages, highlighting how close the attacks occurred to Bangladesh.

Officials stated that security agencies are closely monitoring developments as the conflict continues near the international border.

Conflict Intensifies in Rakhine

The latest strikes come amid increasing tensions between Myanmar's military and armed groups operating in Rakhine State. Reports suggest recent clashes have further escalated the security situation, leaving civilians caught in the middle of the conflict.

The latest developments have once again highlighted the fragile security situation in Myanmar's western region and its potential impact on nearby border communities.
