North Macedonia made a striking debut at the Global Food Week at ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, presenting an array of traditional Balkan foods that promise a fresh culinary experience for UAE consumers. The country’s first participation aims to showcase its rich gastronomic heritage and attract local distributors and food enthusiasts seeking genuine flavors.
Visitors to North Macedonia’s pavilion were treated to a vibrant display of cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and preserves, reflecting the country’s long-standing tradition of authentic food production. Best Food – Gjorgiev Dairy highlighted its signature mixed cow and sheep milk cheeses, praised for their distinct taste, attributed to the country’s abundant sunshine and fertile lands.
Altera Food, another North Macedonian participant, offered an assortment of fresh vegetables and fruits, including pickled products, appetisers, and low-sugar fruit jams. These items are grown in regions enjoying around 300 sunny days annually, contributing to their unique flavor and quality.
The country’s presence at the event underscores its aim to introduce Balkan tastes to the UAE market, providing consumers with products that combine tradition, authenticity, and high quality. The initiative also opens doors for potential partnerships with local distributors and importers, bringing the flavors of North Macedonia closer to the Gulf region.
