Olympus, a prominent player in the MedTech industry, has launched its new Service Training Centre for the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa (META) at Dubai Science Park, operated by TECOM Group PJSC. This AED3.7 million (approximately US$1 million) investment is designed to bolster Olympus’ partnerships in over 33 nations throughout the META region. The company's established hubs across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific play a vital role in delivering training and technical assistance to clients globally.
The opening ceremony welcomed several dignitaries, including Jun Imanishi, the Consul-General of Japan in Dubai; Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior VP of Dubai Science Park; Ronald Boueri, Vice President and Managing Director of Olympus META; and Dr Zeyad Al Moosa, Managing Director of GulfDrug LLC, alongside other key officials.
This new facility will provide practical product training, live demonstrations, and technical workshops focused on Olympus’ medical and surgical tools. Equipped with a modern service and repair shop, as well as a spare-parts inventory, it aims to enhance supply chain effectiveness, supporting hospitals and businesses throughout the region.
Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi remarked that having a physical footprint is crucial for sustainable regional growth. He highlighted that Olympus’ new centre underlines its long-term dedication to the region and enables swift adaptations to changing market conditions. Ronald Boueri emphasized that this facility amplifies Olympus’ capacity to offer exceptional service, technical knowledge, and hands-on training to partners across META, leveraging the resources of Dubai Science Park along with its extensive network of industry and healthcare professionals.
The centre features two fully equipped training spaces that can accommodate up to 150 engineers from META partners, aiming to uplift their technical capabilities and service quality. Dubai Science Park is home to over 6,500 experts in life sciences, energy, and environmental fields, fostering a robust ecosystem for collaboration, innovation, and expansion.
With the establishment of this META Service Training Centre, Olympus aspires to strengthen regional support, enhance service excellence, and equip engineers and healthcare providers with vital technical training, confirming Dubai's role as a pivotal hub for its operations in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa.
