Mystery Deepens Over Death of Rajasthan Kathavachak Prem Baisa

Mystery Deepens Over Death of Rajasthan Kathavachak Prem Baisa

Post by : Meena Ariff

The sudden death of renowned kathavachak and religious preacher Sadhvi Prem Baisa in western Rajasthan has triggered widespread concern and could soon turn into a major political issue. RLP leader and Lok Sabha MP Hanuman Beniwal has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, calling the circumstances surrounding her death “highly suspicious.”

Sadhvi Prem Baisa was brought to a private hospital in Jodhpur on Wednesday evening from her ashram in Boranada. She was accompanied by her father and spiritual guru, Veeram Nath, along with another aide. Doctors at the hospital declared her brought dead.

According to Dr Praveen Jain, who examined her, all possible efforts were made to revive her, but there were no signs of movement or response. The doctor stated that Veeram Nath informed him that Sadhvi had been suffering from fever, cold, and cough. A compounder was called to the ashram, who administered an injection. Shortly after, she reportedly lost consciousness.

Dr Jain further revealed that he advised the family to shift her body to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination. However, her father declined and instead took her body away in his private vehicle.

Police sources confirmed that the compounder involved has been detained for questioning and that his medical equipment has been seized as part of the investigation.

Speaking on the matter, Hanuman Beniwal urged Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and the Director General of Police to take immediate cognisance of the case. He demanded a high-level inquiry, stating that the death occurred under suspicious conditions and deserved a thorough investigation.

Adding to the mystery, a post appeared on Sadhvi Prem Baisa’s social media account nearly four hours after her death. The post showed her greeting followers and included an emotional message stating that she had dedicated her life to the propagation of Sanatan Dharma. The message spoke of faith in divine justice and hinted at unanswered questions surrounding her life and death.

Her father later confirmed that the post was shared from her mobile phone. He said the message had been sent by another religious leader and also supported the demand for an investigation.

Sadhvi Prem Baisa had been in the public eye previously due to a controversy last year, when a video showing her hugging her father went viral. Another woman was seen briefly entering the room to remove a blanket. Prem Baisa had clarified that the video was misinterpreted and described it as a gesture of affection between a father and daughter. Police had investigated the matter and arrested one individual for circulating the video.

As questions continue to mount, the case has drawn attention across Rajasthan, with calls growing louder for clarity, accountability, and justice in the death of the prominent religious figure.
