Rashmika Mandanna made a striking appearance in Los Angeles for Swarovski’s high-profile Masters of Light gala, an event marking the brand’s 130-year milestone. The evening celebrated Swarovski’s long-standing influence on fashion, film and music through an exhibition that traced its evolution from crystal cutting to cultural icon.
The guest list read like a who’s who of global culture: Kylie Jenner, Cher, Law Roach, Venus Williams, Blue Pongtiwat Tangwancharoen and Laura Harrier were among those on the red carpet. Yet it was Mandanna who captured particular attention as an ambassador of Indian film on an international fashion stage.
Her red-carpet choice combined contemporary tailoring with classic glamour: a metallic silver corset matched with a streamlined black skirt that created a refined silhouette. The pairing balanced structure and fluidity for a modern red-carpet statement.
The corset featured a deep V-neck and sculpted boning that defined her waist, while the strapless cut highlighted her shoulders. The accompanying floor-length black skirt sat low on the hips and included a rear slit that offered movement and a statuesque finish.
Jewellery played a central role in the look—true to the event’s theme. Mandanna wore a showpiece crystal necklace set with emerald-cut and oval droplet stones that reflected the room’s light at every turn.
She complemented the necklace with dangling earrings, Swarovski ear cuffs and several crystal-encrusted rings. A delicate crystal waist chain added a subtle contemporary flourish to the ensemble.
Finishing touches included black Christian Louboutin pumps, which kept the look elegant and timeless while anchoring the outfit in classic luxury.
Her hair and makeup reinforced the polished aesthetic. A slicked-back half-updo with a gentle pouf gave clean lines to the face, while luminous makeup—winged liner, metallic smoky eyes, shaped brows and softly rouged cheeks—created a red-carpet-ready glow.
A glossy caramel-pink lip and well-placed highlighter completed the beauty look from every angle.
The showcase examined Swarovski’s role in dressing performers and shaping memorable film and stage moments, using light and installation to chart the house’s history and creative collaborations.
The immersive exhibition blended artistic display with archival storytelling to illustrate how the brand moved from a technical craft to an emblem of glamour across decades.
For India’s audience, Mandanna’s presence underscored a growing cultural exchange, as leading figures from Indian cinema increasingly participate in global fashion narratives.
Mandanna has steadily raised her international profile beyond regional cinema. Known for her versatility and charismatic appeal, she has become one of South India’s most recognisable performers in the wider Indian film landscape.
On screen, she was recently seen in Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan, which also features Ayushmann Khurrana. Several forthcoming projects are expected to further broaden her reach.
Her appearance at Swarovski’s Masters of Light reinforced how contemporary Indian actors are now central to global fashion moments, combining cinematic accomplishment with evolving influence in style and culture.
