Almost 50 people, including young children, are feared dead after a passenger plane crashed in the far eastern Amur region of Russia. The plane was an old Soviet-era aircraft called Antonov An-24. It was flying on a regional route from Khabarovsk to Blagoveshchensk and Tynda.

During its journey, the plane suddenly disappeared from the radar. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed this news in their statement.

Where Did the Plane Crash

Later, the Amur Center for Civil Defence and Fire Safety shared an update. A search and rescue helicopter saw the broken plane on a mountain slope about 10 miles (16 kilometers) from Tynda. Sadly, the rescue team saw no signs of any survivors from the air.

The director of Tynda airport informed that the plane caught fire after it crashed. The exact cause of the crash is still being investigated. The Interstate Aviation Committee has also started a detailed probe to find out what went wrong.

What Happened Before the Crash

According to the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office, the plane was trying to land at Tynda airport for the second time. It had failed to land properly on its first attempt. Reports said that the crew did not send out any emergency call before the crash, which has raised many questions.

About the Aircraft

Public data showed that the aircraft was built in 1976. The Antonov An-24 model itself was designed in 1957, making it an old type of aircraft still in use today. These planes were made during the Soviet Union era for regional flights.

How Many People Were Onboard

The governor of the Amur region, Vasiliy Orlov, shared preliminary information on social media. According to him, there were 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members onboard the plane.

Reports from emergency officials said that it is feared all passengers and crew members onboard the aircraft have died. The plane was very close to Tynda airport when it lost contact with air traffic controllers. This has left everyone wondering what happened during those last moments.

Rescue Efforts

Governor Orlov said that search and rescue operations are ongoing. All necessary forces and rescue teams have been sent to the crash site to help. However, the area where the plane crashed is very remote and difficult to reach. There are no roads, and the place is surrounded by swampy forests, which makes the rescue work even more challenging.

More Details About the Airline

The flight was operated by Angara Airlines, a Russian airline based in Irkutsk, which is located in Siberia. Angara Airlines mainly operates regional flights within Russia, especially in Siberia and nearby areas.

Why Did the Plane Crash

Officials are still trying to find out the exact reason for this crash. Investigators are looking into the possibility of technical problems because the aircraft was very old. Weather conditions and pilot error are also being considered as possible reasons.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has said they will continue their investigation until they knows exactly what caused this terrible incident.

Why Is This Crash a Big Shock

This tragic event has shocked people in Russia and around the world. It has once again raised concerns about the safety of using very old planes for passenger flights. Many people are asking whether such old aircraft should be allowed to fly, especially when they carry children and families.

Families of the people on board are waiting for official confirmation about their loved ones. They are going through a very difficult and painful time, as they fear the worst after hearing the news of no survivors being found.

What Happens Next

The rescue teams will continue their search operation until they reach the crash site fully and confirm the situation. Meanwhile, the Interstate Aviation Committee will conduct a detailed investigation. They will check the black box of the aircraft to find out what happened in the final minutes before the crash.

The Russian government and local authorities have promised to provide support to the families of the victims and to find out the real reason behind this heartbreaking crash. They also said that they will take strict action if any safety rules are ignored.

How Are People Reacting

People in Russia are mourning the loss of so many lives, including innocent children. Many are expressing their grief and anger on social media, demanding better safety rules for flights.

An old passenger plane crashed in the Amur region of Russia, killing almost 50 people, including children. The plane disappeared from the radar and was later found burned on a mountain slope near Tynda. Rescue teams found no survivors, and investigations are going on to find out why this happened. This sad news has left many families broken-hearted and raised serious concerns about flight safety in Russia.
