Russia launched a fresh wave of missile and drone strikes across several Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia, causing widespread destruction, fires, and multiple injuries. Ukrainian officials said emergency teams were immediately deployed as explosions echoed across affected areas during the overnight attacks.
Authorities warned residents to remain inside bomb shelters while air defense systems continued monitoring incoming aerial threats.
Zaporizhzhia Suffers Major Damage
One of the hardest-hit locations was Zaporizhzhia, where a missile strike damaged a residential apartment building and a fitness center. Local officials also confirmed that a warehouse caught fire following the attack, forcing firefighters and rescue workers to launch emergency operations.
Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov said at least three people were injured, while videos from the scene showed rescue teams carrying victims from damaged buildings.
Emergency Services Continue Rescue Operations
Firefighters worked for several hours to control multiple fires caused by the explosions. Rescue personnel searched damaged structures to ensure no residents remained trapped under debris, while medical teams treated the injured and transported them to nearby hospitals.
Officials said the full extent of the destruction is still being assessed as emergency operations continue across the affected districts.

Russia Claims Military Targets Were Hit
Russia's Ministry of Defence stated that the strikes were aimed at Ukrainian military facilities and strategic infrastructure. Ukrainian authorities, however, said residential buildings and civilian facilities were among the damaged locations, raising concerns over civilian safety.
The attacks came amid continued escalation in the conflict, with both countries intensifying military operations in recent weeks.
Air Raid Alerts Remain Active
Military monitoring groups reported continued movement of Russian drones toward several Ukrainian regions following the initial strikes. Air raid sirens remained active in parts of the country as authorities warned that additional attacks could not be ruled out.
Residents have been advised to remain alert, follow official warnings, and avoid damaged areas until rescue and security operations are completed.
Conflict Enters Another Dangerous Phase
The latest strikes highlight the continuing escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with both sides carrying out increasingly large-scale military operations. The renewed attacks have raised fresh concerns about civilian safety, infrastructure damage, and the humanitarian situation in affected regions.
International observers continue monitoring developments as emergency responders work to restore essential services and assist affected communities.
