Saudi Heritage Shines at Milan's Artigiano in Fiera

Post by : Maya Rahman

The Saudi national pavilion concluded its vibrant presence at Milan’s Artigiano in Fiera, a renowned fair dedicated to handicrafts and traditional arts. The pavilion highlighted Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage for visitors from around the world.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the pavilion united various Saudi cultural and tourism entities to promote the Kingdom as a premier cultural and tourist hub.

Among the participating organizations were the Heritage Commission, Theater and Performing Arts Commission, Culinary Arts Commission, the Royal Institute for Traditional Arts (Wrth), the Royal Commission for AlUla, Saudi Tourism Authority, and the Saudi Artisanal Company.

Over 140 Saudis participated, including artisans, chefs, and traditional musicians and dancers, showcasing crafts such as bisht tailoring, agal weaving, Sadu weaving, incense burners, and rosaries.

Students from Wrth also showcased their work, with twenty trainees displaying Al-Qatt Al-Asiri art, pottery, embroidery, and wood crafts, emphasizing the role of youth in preserving traditions.

The Saudi Artisanal Company highlighted handmade products that reflect the Kingdom’s high-quality craftsmanship. Guests were treated to traditional Saudi coffee and guided tours of the exhibits.

Visitors indulged in traditional Saudi cuisine, featuring dates, coffee, and signature dishes, with live cooking shows by Saudi chefs and performances from traditional art groups.

Through participation in Artigiano in Fiera, Saudi Arabia fosters cultural exchange, showcasing its crafts, cuisine, and arts to strengthen its international stature.
