Sharjah, UAE:
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme Council Member, has given the green light for the recruitment of 1,000 Emirati men and women in the Government of Sharjah starting January 2026, reinforcing the emirate's strong commitment to bolstering national employment.
This initiative follows the previous successful employment of 3,145 Emirati citizens in 2025, exemplifying Sharjah’s continued efforts to broaden job opportunities for its nationals. According to the latest announcement, interviews for these new positions will begin next Monday, prompting eligible candidates to commence the application process without delay.
The decision is part of a series of initiatives overseen by the Ruler himself, aiming to enhance citizen employment, promote national talent, and provide stability for Emirati families in the long term. These initiatives involve the regular establishment of new government roles to fulfill workforce demands.
In 2025, newly appointed employees were placed in both central and decentralized government agencies in Sharjah, comprising 1,994 men and 1,151 women, with total employment costs surpassing AED 950 million.
His Highness has consistently underscored the significance of delivering sustainable employment opportunities, enabling young Emiratis to actively participate in the emirate’s growth, create secure family lives, and uphold a dignified living standard. Additionally, these appointments allow government entities to leverage qualified national talents, thereby enhancing overall efficiency and performance in the public sector.
This latest directive further solidifies Sharjah’s leading position in promoting Emirati employment and investing in human capital for sustainable development.
