This significant meeting took place on Sunday at the Dr Sultan Al Qasimi Centre in University City, Sharjah, and underscored the ongoing cultural and linguistic partnership between Sharjah and Lebanon.
The Lebanese delegation was led by Dr Emile Badi Yaqub and His Excellency Dr Rashid Darbas. His Highness extended a warm welcome, congratulating them on the formal inauguration of the Arabic Language Academy in Beirut. He recognized their collaboration with Sharjah as an enriching and timely contribution to the Arabic-speaking community.
Sheikh Sultan emphasized Lebanon’s historic and crucial role in nurturing Arabic culture and literature, acknowledging the lineage of scholars, writers, and thinkers who have significantly shaped Arabic creative expression, arts, and intellectual pursuits throughout history. He expressed optimism that the Beirut academy would honor this legacy and actively contribute to preserving and enhancing the Arabic language.
His Highness also stressed the significance of collaboration among Arabic language academies throughout the Arab region.
