His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, presided over a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) on Tuesday, held at the Ruler’s Office.
The session was attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
Evaluation of Government Productivity and Eco-Friendly Goals
In this meeting, the Council meticulously evaluated the effectiveness of various government departments. Significant emphasis was placed on projects designed to boost environmental sustainability, service quality, and performance standards aligned with community needs.
Enhancement of Waste Management Strategies
The Council also explored the plans to upgrade and extend Sharjah’s waste management system throughout its urban areas. These efforts are in line with the UAE’s ambitious target of achieving carbon neutrality by the year 2050.
The strategy focuses on creating a comprehensive and sustainable waste management framework that not only supports ecological preservation but also conserves natural resources, enhances life quality, and promotes sustainable development.
Adoption of advanced technology and global best practices for waste collection, treatment, and recycling will be prioritized. This initiative is expected to significantly bolster operational efficiency, minimize environmental impact, and reduce reliance on conventional landfills, while also preparing for future urban growth.
Update on the ‘Aqari’ Real Estate Platform
The Council also discussed the current progress of the “Aqari” platform, which serves as Sharjah’s integrated digital ecosystem for real estate operations. This initiative is designed to enhance transparency, governance, and efficiency within real estate services.
The platform's initial phase has been successfully launched, encompassing company and agency registration, property listings, and rental services through a unified system.
According to the latest figures, the platform has facilitated over 112,000 transactions, listed 95,000 properties, and registered nearly 5,000 companies and agencies. The time needed for transaction processing has decreased by 90%, and all services are now available digitally, enabling users to fulfill their requests without the need to visit service centers.
The Council voiced its appreciation for the Aqari platform team’s contributions and reiterated its commitment to further enhancing digital services to meet user expectations in accordance with best government practices.
