Just a day after a devastating bus fire in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, a private bus overturned on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Telangana, injuring 20 passengers. The accident occurred near the Pedda Amberpet municipality while the bus was en route from Hyderabad to Guntur on Saturday.
Witnesses reported that the bus lost control and tipped over after colliding with guardrails, which failed upon impact, emphasizing the severity of the incident. All 20 individuals aboard suffered injuries and were promptly transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Emergency responders, including police, ORR maintenance crews, and local citizens, were swift to the scene to support rescue efforts.
This incident follows closely behind a tragic bus fire in Kurnool that resulted in 20 fatalities. Initial reports indicated that the earlier incident involved a collision with a motorcycle, which possibly led to the fire. A video circulating online showed the motorcycle rider behaving erratically, potentially influenced, just before the Kurnool disaster.
Authorities have highlighted the critical need for improved road safety, particularly on busy highways like the ORR, where high speeds and reckless driving are contributing factors to these accidents. Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the cause of the bus rollover in Telangana.
These recent incidents raise alarms over road safety in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, prompting officials to remind drivers and passengers alike to remain vigilant and cautious while traveling on highways.
