One Dead After Business Jet Crashes on Texas Highway

One Dead After Business Jet Crashes on Texas Highway

Post by : Shakul

A business jet carrying six people crashed onto a highway in Laredo, Texas, late Tuesday night, killing one person and triggering dramatic rescue efforts by motorists and emergency responders. The aircraft burst into flames after impact, creating panic among drivers traveling along the busy roadway near the Texas-Mexico border.

According to local authorities, the crash occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on Loop 20 Highway, not far from Laredo International Airport. Witnesses described seeing the aircraft lose control before striking a light pole and skidding across the highway. The jet eventually came to rest on its side after being nearly torn apart by the impact.

Several motorists immediately stopped their vehicles and rushed toward the burning wreckage. Videos shared on social media showed bystanders attempting to break the cockpit window and open the aircraft door while smoke and flames continued to spread around the fuselage.

Witnesses said multiple passengers managed to escape from the aircraft as rescuers worked against time. Emergency crews later arrived at the scene and helped remove the remaining occupants from the damaged jet. Officials confirmed that one person died in the incident, although it remains unclear whether the victim was aboard the aircraft or on the ground.

The aircraft involved was identified as a Cessna Citation Latitude twin-engine business jet. Flight tracking data indicated that the plane had departed from Los Cabos International Airport in Mexico earlier in the evening and was approaching Laredo when the accident occurred.

Authorities believe the aircraft may have suffered a mechanical problem before the crash, though investigators have not yet confirmed the exact cause. Federal aviation officials and local law enforcement agencies have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.

The crash marks the latest in a series of aviation accidents reported in the United States this week. Officials are continuing to examine evidence from the scene as investigators work to determine what led to the deadly accident.
