A Thai court has issued an arrest warrant for Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip, a media mogul and co-owner of the Miss Universe beauty pageant, over alleged fraud involving nearly US$930,000. The warrant was announced on November 26, 2025, following accusations from a plastic surgeon who claimed that Jakrajutatip persuaded him to invest in her company, JKN Global Group, in 2023 but then concealed important information and failed to return the money within the agreed time.
The case centers on a 30 million baht (approximately US$930,000) dispute. A verdict was initially scheduled for November 25, but Jakrajutatip did not appear in court, leading the South Bangkok Civil Court to issue the arrest warrant. The court suggested her absence could be seen as an attempt to evade legal proceedings. The verdict hearing has been rescheduled to December 26.
There are reports that Jakrajutatip may have left Thailand for Mexico, amid rumors of financial difficulties. The Miss Universe Organization, which Jakrajutatip’s company partly owns, stated that the legal case is separate from the organization’s operations.
This announcement comes shortly after the conclusion of the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Bangkok, which itself was marked by controversy, including a public argument between the male host and the winner, Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch. Despite the recent events, the pageant concluded successfully with the crowning of Miss Mexico.
The court’s decision highlights ongoing legal challenges faced by Jakrajutatip, while the Miss Universe Organization continues its preparations for upcoming events under new management. This case remains a high-profile story in Thailand and the beauty pageant world.
