A harrowing night unfolded in Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh, as six people tragically lost their lives in two distinct highway accidents on Wednesday.
In a horrifying first incident, four MBBS students from Venkateshwar University were fatally injured when their speeding car crashed into a stationary DCM truck on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway. Eyewitnesses recounted the scene, describing the collision’s impact as devastating; the vehicle was left unrecognizable, and rescue efforts were futile. Emergency services, including police and forensic specialists, arrived promptly, spending hours on the site to ascertain the circumstances that led to this tragedy. Family notifications are being made, while university officials have also been present to offer their condolences and support. The victims' identities are currently under verification.
In another unfortunate incident on Gajraula National Highway 9 around 8:45 p.m., two young men, identified as Deepak and Nitin from Sona Khurd village in Lakhimpur Kheri district, met with fatal consequences when their motorcycle collided with a truck. The men were commuting back from Gurugram, where they worked as bike riders. Local police arrived quickly, processed the scene, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examinations. Station House Officer Manoj Kumar confirmed the tragic event and stated that reports regarding the deceased have been documented. A thorough investigation into both accidents is in progress and legal steps will be enforced as required.
Rajabpur police have verified that comprehensive investigations into both accidents are underway. Officers and forensic experts worked tirelessly to gather evidence, analyze the crash sites, and piece together what transpired leading up to these devastating accidents. Authorities have emphasized the need for drivers to maintain heightened caution on highways, particularly during the night, and to strictly uphold traffic regulations to prevent such sorrowful occurrences in the future.
