King Hamad Park Opens in the UAE for Bahrain's National Day Celebration

Post by : Badri Ariffin

In an initiative guided by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has proudly opened King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Park on 16 December 2025, coinciding with Bahrain's 54th National Day. This endeavor underscores the strong friendship and strategic partnership between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Designed with families in mind, the elevated park features over 1,100 mature Ghaf trees, fostering a vibrant and sustainable green space aimed at enhancing health and recreation.

Guests can take advantage of a variety of modern facilities, including elevated walking paths, scenic trails under a dense tree canopy, a specialized pump track, cycling lanes, and a fully air-conditioned walkway nearly 700 metres long. These amenities ensure comfort and accessibility year-round.

During the opening event, His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, remarked that the park symbolizes the enduring bond between the UAE and Bahrain, exemplifying the close relationship shared between the leaders and citizens of both nations.

Moreover, the park features expansive green lawns, yoga and meditation zones, lively children’s play areas, and designated fitness facilities catering to senior citizens and People of Determination, promoting inclusivity for everyone.

At the heart of the park is a newly established café with a chilled outdoor terrace and an elevated viewpoint offering stunning views of the tree canopy. Additionally, food trucks and water fountains are strategically placed throughout the space to ensure visitor comfort and ease.

King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Park is poised to become a significant recreational landmark, embodying unity, sustainability, and the robust partnership between the UAE and Bahrain.
