Post by : Badri Ariffin

The University of Sharjah proudly celebrated the achievements of 664 female graduates during two distinguished undergraduate ceremonies. These events were held under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and the University’s President.

The first ceremony honored 335 graduates from the Colleges of Business Administration, Engineering, Computing and Informatics, and Science. The second celebrated 329 graduates from the Colleges of Communication, Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Sharia and Islamic Studies, Fine Arts and Design, and Law.

Both events commenced with the UAE national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, establishing a solemn yet joyful atmosphere.

In his address, Dr. Essam Al Din Ajami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, expressed his sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his support and attendance. He congratulated the graduates and recognized the families for their continual encouragement throughout the academic journey.

Dr. Ajami reiterated the university’s dedication to its educational mission and to empowering students to contribute to society through knowledge and ethical values. “The University of Sharjah is not merely a collection of buildings, but a promise to nurture individuals,” he commented, emphasizing the importance of integrating knowledge with principles and directing research towards solving real-world problems, while also promoting women's pivotal role in future advancements.

He emphasized the institution’s rising global reputation and reminded graduates they are emerging from a university that prioritizes excellence as a strategic goal. He highlighted the accolades received by the university from prominent international rankings. Dr. Ajami noted that the university has transformed into a regional center for innovation, where ideas evolve into actionable solutions.

As he concluded, Dr. Ajami encouraged the graduates to embrace their potential as educated women who can be leaders, innovators, and catalysts for positive transformation in science and technology.

Speaking on behalf of her peers, Hind Musallam Al Marzouqi from the College of Computing and Informatics expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his inspiring leadership and the significance of the day. She extended heartfelt thanks to the administration, faculty, and families for their unwavering support, pledging that they would serve as exemplary ambassadors for their values and university.

Fellow graduate representative, Reem Salah Al Hashemi from the College of Law, remarked that the university provided more than education, stating, “It was a sanctuary for inquiry, where we departed with greater insight and resilience.” She recognized the confidence gained during their time at the university and concluded with congratulations to fellow graduates, families, and faculty.

As the ceremonies wrapped up, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi awarded certificates to graduates from all participating colleges, commending their accomplishments and wishing them success in their future endeavors.

These celebrations not only highlighted academic success but also underscored the University of Sharjah’s ongoing commitment to empowering women and nurturing a new generation poised to contribute to national development.
