Explosion at Iran State TV Building in Tehran | Middle East War Escalates

Post by : Shakul

A powerful airstrike struck the headquarters of Iran’s state television broadcaster in northern Tehran, causing explosions and sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky, officials and residents reported. The facility belongs to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) — the country’s main state media organisation — and is located in the Evin district of the capital. Initial assessments indicate that parts of the complex sustained significant damage, though operations reportedly continued despite the attack.

Eyewitness videos shared on social media showed black smoke rising above the IRIB compound shortly after loud explosions were heard, prompting emergency responders to move toward the scene. Iranian authorities confirmed that the broadcaster’s buildings were affected, but no official casualty numbers have been released so far.

The strike was reported amid a broader wave of military operations across Iran, with multiple government and strategic sites in Tehran and other cities targeted in recent days as part of the intensifying U.S.–Israel campaign in the region. Iranian state outlets emphasised that broadcasting services continued, stressing resilience despite the attack.

Iran’s government condemned the assault on the state media centre as part of escalating hostilities and vowed to respond, underscoring the heightened tensions and fears of further escalation in an already volatile Middle East conflict.
