At least eight Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed after armed Baloch rebel fighters targeted a Pakistan Army convoy on the Kharan–Nushki road in the Niam Durgi area of Balochistan, according to reports circulating on regional media outlets and social media platforms.
The attack is said to have occurred on a route frequently used by security forces operating in the province. Initial reports indicate that the convoy came under a coordinated assault, resulting in casualties among military personnel. Authorities have not immediately released detailed information regarding the incident or the exact number of those affected.
Balochistan has remained the center of a long-running insurgency involving separatist groups that seek greater autonomy or independence from Pakistan. Over the years, security forces, government installations, infrastructure projects, and military convoys have frequently been targeted in attacks across the region.
