Thailand’s Department of Employment is expanding its Career Clinics initiative to help job seekers, unemployed individuals, recent graduates, and workers facing career challenges navigate an increasingly complex labor market. The program has been designed to provide personalized career guidance and employment support amid economic uncertainty and rapid technological change.
According to Department of Employment Director-General Somchai Morakotsriwan, shifting economic conditions and advances in technology have transformed the employment landscape. While some traditional occupations are disappearing, new career opportunities are emerging, requiring workers to continuously adapt their skills and professional knowledge to remain competitive.
The Career Clinics program offers comprehensive counseling services aimed at helping individuals identify suitable career paths based on their skills, interests, personality traits, and professional goals. The initiative supports those seeking new employment opportunities, career transitions, or solutions to workplace-related difficulties and stress.
A key feature of the program is its team of trained career counselors with backgrounds in psychology. These specialists provide aptitude assessments, career planning advice, job preparation support, and recommendations for skill development programs that align with current labor market demands. Participants can also receive guidance on self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The Department has established 28 service locations across Thailand and deployed 38 career counselors and specialized staff members to ensure broad public access. In addition to office-based consultations, outreach programs are being conducted to reach communities and individuals who may face barriers in accessing government employment services.
The initiative has already demonstrated significant results during the first seven months of the 2026 fiscal year. Between October 2025 and April 2026, more than 14,000 people received assistance through Career Clinics. Of those, 7,749 individuals successfully secured employment, generating an estimated combined annual income exceeding 67.5 million baht.
Officials say the program reflects the government's commitment to strengthening workforce resilience and supporting citizens through economic transitions. As labor markets continue to evolve, Career Clinics are expected to play an increasingly important role in helping workers build sustainable careers, improve financial stability, and enhance their overall quality of life.
