Tension escalated along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening after security forces detected the movement of multiple suspected Pakistani drones in forward areas. The aerial objects were spotted hovering over sensitive border sectors in Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch districts, prompting an immediate response from the Indian Army.

According to official sources, the drones briefly entered Indian airspace from across the border and were observed hovering for several minutes before retreating. As a precautionary measure, troops deployed along the LoC and IB opened fire and activated Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) measures to neutralize any potential threat.

The suspected drone activity was reported in multiple locations, raising concerns about possible cross-border attempts to carry out surveillance or drop weapons, explosives, or narcotics. This incident comes amid ongoing concerns over the use of drones by Pakistan-based elements to infiltrate Indian airspace along the border regions of Jammu and Kashmir. Such drones have previously been used for smuggling arms and reconnaissance activities, posing a serious security challenge.
