Thousands Gather in Moscow for Eid Prayers Amid Tight Security

Post by : Shakul

Thousands of Muslims gathered across Moscow on Thursday morning to celebrate Eid prayers, with authorities temporarily closing several roads and streets to manage the massive crowds and maintain security across the Russian capital. Worshippers arrived early at mosques, parks, and specially designated prayer grounds, creating large gatherings in different parts of the city.

Russian police and emergency services were heavily deployed around major prayer locations to ensure public safety and control traffic movement during the celebrations. Authorities introduced temporary traffic restrictions near key mosques and public areas as thousands of people gathered peacefully for the important Islamic festival. Public transport services were also adjusted in some areas to handle the increased number of passengers traveling for prayers.

Moscow is home to one of the largest Muslim populations in Europe, and Eid celebrations in the city regularly attract huge participation every year. Muslims from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds came together for morning prayers, community gatherings, and traditional celebrations with family and friends. Religious leaders delivered messages focused on peace, unity, and social harmony during the event.

Officials said the celebrations remained peaceful throughout the morning, with no major security incidents reported. The large public turnout once again highlighted the important role of the Muslim community in Russia’s cultural and religious life. Eid celebrations were also held in several other Russian cities with strong security arrangements and community events taking place across the country.
