A tragic explosion at an electric vehicle (EV) charging point on Wednesday caused a massive fire that destroyed a three-storey home in Brijeshwari Annexe near Bengali Square, killing eight members of a single family, including children and women. Officials report that a short circuit at the EV charging point triggered the blaze, which spread rapidly as LPG cylinders and household items exploded. Emergency crews managed to rescue three people, who remain critically injured, but most residents were unable to escape the flames.
