Vietnam’s government has outlined a series of key directives and policy actions taken during the week of April 18 to 24, 2026, focusing on economic growth, digital transformation, and social welfare. The updates reflect the administration’s commitment to accelerating national development and improving governance efficiency.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung launched a nationwide campaign aimed at successfully implementing socio-economic development goals for the year and the 2026–2030 five-year plan. The initiative encourages ministries and local authorities to enhance efficiency, promote innovation, and strengthen competitiveness across sectors.
A major focus of the week was improving the management and use of public investment capital. The government emphasized linking investment decisions with socio-economic efficiency and accountability throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning to execution and operation. Strict measures have been introduced to prevent corruption and ensure transparency.
The administration also pushed forward digital transformation efforts by promoting digital skills training for officials, civil servants, and public employees. The goal is to ensure that by the end of 2026, all government personnel have essential digital knowledge and can effectively use digital platforms in their work.
In addition, the government is strengthening administrative reforms through the implementation of a synchronized national public service system. Authorities aim to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of online services, improving accessibility and reducing bureaucratic delays for citizens and businesses.
Efforts are also underway to enhance human resource development at the local level, with a focus on training commune-level officials to meet modern governance requirements. The government is working toward building a more professional and capable administrative system across all regions.
Other important initiatives include the implementation of an amnesty program, the promotion of biotechnology as a strategic economic sector, and the establishment of a national environmental radiation monitoring network. These measures highlight the government’s broader approach to balancing economic growth with social stability and environmental protection.
