Vietnam officially launched the Yen Binh Concentrated Digital Technology Park project in Thai Nguyen Province, with Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung attending the groundbreaking ceremony. The project is expected to become one of the country's leading digital technology and innovation hubs, supporting Vietnam's long-term digital transformation strategy.
Major Investment to Boost Digital Economy
The technology park will cover nearly 200 hectares with an investment exceeding 3,500 billion VND. Located near the Hanoi–Thai Nguyen Expressway and approximately 45 kilometres from Noi Bai International Airport, the project is strategically positioned to connect major industrial and technology centres across northern Vietnam.
Focus on High-Tech Industries
The Yen Binh Digital Technology Park will focus on five priority sectors, including software and artificial intelligence, digital graphics, industrial automation and robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles, and IoT devices and semiconductor technology. The project is also planned as a national centre for research, innovation and digital technology training.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung said the project supports Vietnam's goal of increasing the digital economy's contribution to 30% of GDP by 2030. He noted that concentrated digital technology zones will play a key role in improving national competitiveness and expanding Vietnam's position in global technology value chains.
Vietnam Accelerates Digital Infrastructure Development
Vietnam continues investing in digital infrastructure, innovation centres and high-tech industrial zones as part of its national digital transformation strategy. The Yen Binh project is expected to attract domestic and international technology companies while creating thousands of high-skilled jobs and strengthening Vietnam's technology ecosystem.
Thai Nguyen Positioned as Technology Hub
Officials highlighted Thai Nguyen's advantages, including its strategic location, improving transport network and strong educational institutions that produce highly skilled workers. The province is considered one of Vietnam's leading centres for technology talent and digital industry development.
Project Expected to Drive Innovation
Construction is scheduled to continue through 2028, with the park expected to attract more than 100 domestic and international technology companies. Authorities believe the project will strengthen innovation, create high-quality employment opportunities and contribute significantly to Vietnam's economic modernization.
