Al Ain is setting the stage for a new era of economic growth and diversification. The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) recently hosted a high-level workshop, Al Ain Horizons Towards the Future 2026, bringing together strategic partners, government entities, investors, and entrepreneurs to align efforts for the region’s development.
The workshop focused on strengthening public-private partnerships, expanding business opportunities, and developing local talent. Participants discussed key priorities, including strategic project roadmaps, integrated initiatives, and sustainable growth strategies aimed at positioning Al Ain as a hub for innovation and economic diversification.
A significant portion of discussions centered on smart agriculture, support for productive families, and enhancing cultural and tourism offerings. The goal is to reinforce Al Ain Region’s status as a leading desert oasis retreat while stimulating investment and entrepreneurship.
Over the past years, Al Ain has attracted more than AED 128.5 billion (US$35 billion) in non-oil investments across sectors such as transportation, energy, and advanced manufacturing. By coordinating planning and policy efforts, ADDED aims to further empower entrepreneurs, investors, and talent to capture emerging opportunities.
The workshop featured presentations and focused discussions from key stakeholders, including the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), Al Ain International Airport, Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), and city municipalities. Experts shared insights on labour market needs, investment opportunities, funding support, and private sector roles in driving regional growth.
ADRA, ADDED’s business development arm, highlighted ongoing efforts to simplify licensing procedures, provide expert guidance, protect commercial interests, and maintain a robust regulatory environment, ensuring that entrepreneurs and businesses thrive.
The event marks a decisive step toward shaping Al Ain Region as a dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable economic hub within Abu Dhabi, blending innovation, investment, and community-focused development to support long-term prosperity.
