Director Amar Kaushik has shared insights into the intrigue surrounding Alia Bhatt's potential addition to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) with Chamunda.
When questioned about Alia Bhatt’s participation in Chamunda, Amar replied,
“Everything is on the timeline. When it unfolds, everyone will see it. I’m neither confirming nor denying anything right now. Our main focus is on the narrative; we contemplate casting later. Scripts aren’t shaped by the cast.”
Emphasizing the importance of storytelling within MHCU, he stated, “Fortunately, it doesn’t revolve around star power here.”
MHCU Aims to “Elevate the Experience” for Fans
Kaushik assured audiences that the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is continuously progressing with each new release.
“Fans can expect our films to elevate their experience. We craft these productions with the audience in mind. If we falter, please let us know through social media or any platform,” he remarked.
He also expressed the team’s commitment to authenticity and integrity:
“We want to remain genuine, just like we did with Stree. Our goal is to meet audience expectations.”
Overview of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU)
The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe was initiated with Amar Kaushik’s successful 2018 film Stree, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. The franchise has since grown, including films like Bhediya, Munjya, Stree 2, and the latest Thamma.
The recent addition, Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Co-produced by Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan, the MHCU continues to grow with upcoming projects such as Shakti Shalini starring Aneet Padda, and Bhediya 2 featuring Varun Dhawan.
Alia Bhatt’s Future Projects
Currently, Alia Bhatt is immersed in a collection of high-profile roles. She will be featured in YRF’s spy thriller Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail, alongside Sharvari Wagh. Alia plays a commanding officer in an elite all-women combat division, with the film set to release on December 25.
Additionally, she will appear alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War — a lavish period drama reuniting Bhatt and Kapoor after their collaboration in Brahmastra.
